Terms of Service
Last updated August 4, 2026
1. Who we are, and what you're agreeing to
CompliantLabel is operated by DivX, LLC, a Texas limited liability company, operating as CompliantLabel ("we," "us," "the service"). By using the service — with or without an account — you agree to these terms. If you don't agree to them, don't use the service.
2. What CompliantLabel does
CompliantLabel generates food labels formatted to the FDA's 2016 Nutrition Facts requirements from the recipe, ingredient, and serving information you provide. We are a software tool, not a regulatory authority, a testing laboratory, or a law firm.
3. No guarantee of compliance, and no legal advice
The accuracy of a generated label depends entirely on the accuracy of the data you enter — ingredient identification, gram weights, serving sizes, and allergen declarations. You are responsible for reviewing every label the service produces and confirming it meets the requirements that apply to your specific product, business size, and jurisdiction — those requirements vary, and they change over time. CompliantLabel does not guarantee legal or regulatory compliance, and nothing on this site or in the service is legal advice. For questions about what the law requires of your product, consult a qualified food-labeling attorney or regulatory consultant.
4. Your recipes and labels are yours
You own the recipe data you enter and the labels the service generates from it. You give us only the limited license we need to operate the service: to store, process, and display your data back to you and to generate your export files. We don't use your recipes for anything else, and we claim no ownership over your products or labels. The service itself — the software, site design, and content we wrote — belongs to us, and these terms don't transfer any of it to you.
5. Accounts, subscriptions, and billing
Building and previewing a label is free, with a visible watermark on exported files. Saving products requires a free account. Watermark-free, print-ready exports require an active paid subscription, billed either monthly ($19/mo) or annually ($190/yr). Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. All payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe — we never see or store your card details.
You can cancel at any time through the Stripe customer portal, reached from your Account page. When you cancel, paid features stay available through the end of the billing period you've already paid for, and the subscription doesn't renew after that. Payments already made are not refunded, in whole or in part, except where the law requires it. If we change prices, the change applies from your next billing period, not the one you've already paid for.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to resell, scrape, reverse-engineer, or automate access to the service outside of ordinary individual use; not to interfere with or circumvent the service's operation or its limits; not to use it in violation of any law; and not to use it to generate labels you know to be false or misleading.
7. Termination
You can stop using the service at any time, and cancel any active subscription as described in Section 5. If you want your account and saved products deleted entirely, email us at support@compliantlabel.com and we'll remove them. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates Section 6 (Acceptable use) or that we reasonably believe is being used fraudulently, with notice by email where practical.
8. The service is provided "as is"
The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind — express or implied — including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't promise the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular output will meet your requirements. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
9. Liability limits
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DivX, LLC and its members, managers, and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including any regulatory action, product recall, lost profits, or business loss connected to a label you generated. Our total liability for all claims relating to the service, combined, is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the first claim arose. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain liability limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Your responsibility for your products
You — not us — are responsible for the food products you make and sell and for the labels you put on them. If a third party or a regulator brings a claim against us because of a product you labeled or sold using the service's output, or because of data you entered, you agree to cover the costs and losses we incur from that claim.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to the service that we can't resolve informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing anything, email us at support@compliantlabel.com — most problems can be fixed faster that way.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. When we make a material change, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and take reasonable steps to bring it to your attention, such as a notice on the site. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the revised terms. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
